Upstate Bucket List

We watch a lot of food related TV. We read a lot of food related websites. We talk to a lot of food related people. We come up with a lot of locations that we really want to visit.

As such, this post acts one of our food bucket lists. This particular one has a specific focus on locations within upstate New York.

The Blue Monk, Buffalo
The Blue Monk is a Belgian themed gastropub in Buffalo, complete with a grand number of Belgian-style beers on tap. We tried to go there once with family but we were too late and the kitchen was closed. We can't wait to try their food.

CB's Brewing Company, Honeoye Falls
CB's (or Custom Brewcrafters) is a local brewery down south of Rochester. While none of their beers are really that high on our list of favorites, it's still a destination we need to check out. They offer tours, tastings, and a little cafe.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que, Syracuse
Dinosaur Bar-B-Que is one of our favorite Rochester restaurants. We've been there countless times. We haven't, however, been to the original location in Syracuse. That's why its on our list. We have to see where it all started.

Hurd Orchards, Holley
Hurd Orchards is a wonderful little farm around the corner from our home. We considered having our wedding there but went with the Buffalo Botanical Gardens instead. While we've been to their little shop several times, we have never attended one their food-focused events. That's why its on our list.

Ithaca Beer Co., Ithaca
Ithaca Beer Co. is one of our favorite and most memorable breweries. It was their beers that we chose for the primary beverages at our wedding. Given all of that, we've never checked out their brewery. They have a gift shop and offer tours on the weekends.

New York Wine and Culinary Center, Canandaigua
Honestly, we don't know much about the New York Wine and Culinary Center. That's the primary reason why it's on this list. It's a fine dining restaurant and school located in beautiful Canandaigua. It will surely be the site of a celebration for us at some point in the future.

Rohrbach Railroad Street Brewery, Rochester
Rohrbach's brewpub is one of our favorite places to be in Rochester. We haven't ever been to their downtown brewery though. It isn't a restaurant, just a tasting room that offers growler fills on Fridays and Saturdays and tours on Saturdays. We really should go for a tour someday.

Is there a place you think desperately belongs on this list? Let us know in the comments!
